Fun day

Fun Day presents a fun opportunity for students to learn skills that may be useful solving their Odyssey problems and for adults to learn how to be an Odyssey parent or coach.

For Students Grades 2-8:

In the morning, each student will take part in 2 sessions. You can have fun learning things such as:

New for experienced teams:
Odyssey Master Classes: tips and techniques.
Students in a build it session.
  • Sew What?
  • Set Design!
  • Build It!
  • Acting Out!
  • Spontaneous!
  • Do it With Style!
  • Painting Techniques 
  • Scriptwriting
  • Wiring
  • Mask Making
  • Directing a Play
  • and more!

THEN, in the afternoon, be challenged to apply the skills in fun Odyssey type challenges where they design, create and perform solutions to a fun challenge.

COST: $8 ea. for students from Odyssey of the Mind member schools, OR $15 ea. for all other students. Register.

For Adults:

Roll up your sleeves and take part in some creative challenges too!

Coaches training.
  • FREE Odyssey of the Mind Parents session
  • Coaches Training:
    • Getting Started with Your Team
    • Solving the Long Term Problem – You Don’t!
    • Spontaneous Tips and Techniques
    • Building Team Spirit; General Rules and Problem Procedures
    • Coaches’ Survival Tips from Experienced Coaches
    • Do It with Style!
  • join students in the session rooms and help out

THEN, come at the end of the day to watch the teams prepare their final session in the gym.

COST: for Coaches Training is $10 per adult to a maximum of $30 per school. Additional adults are free. Register.

10:45-12:00 STUDENTS: Session B activities
12:00-1:00 ALL: Lunch
1:00-2:15 STUDENTS: 3 P's: Problem, Plot and Props

2:15-3:00 ALL: Watch Student Solutions to the 3 P's
