ScholarshipThis year's recipient of the BC Odyssey of the Mind Scholarship is Connor Beck.
His future plan is to continue with his masters and PHD with a view to becoming a professor. He says that on the day that he gets tenure he plans to teach his class in his pajamas! His summers are spent as a Camp Counsellor at Camp Sasamat where his groups often include Odyssey of the Mind kids, a great training ground, he says, for his future teaching plans. The Odyssey of the Mind scholarship is $250 awarded once a year to a student planning to attend a post secondary institute. The recipient will be someone who has participated in Odyssey and demonstrates a commitment to creativity. Connor participated in Odyssey of the Mind in BC for 4 years including his last year as a Grade 12 student at Heritage Woods Secondary. At his graduation he was awarded the top award of All Around Graduating Student. He is attending Huron University College, the founding college on the grounds of the University of Western Ontario where he in majoring in Psychology.
